What we do
North Lakes Design CIC is developing a publicly accessible digital manufacturing workshop in Carlisle, designed to give individuals, educators, and small businesses access to modern tools, practical skills, and collaborative problem-solving.
The workshop is currently in development and seeking additional funding and is expected to open later in 2026.
While the space is being built, North Lakes Design continues to work with commercial clients on design, prototyping, and digital manufacturing projects.
Working with North Lakes Design directly helps support the development of the Community Access workshop and the wider mission of expanding access to modern manufacturing capability.

Planning for the digital manufacturing workshop is currently underway and first machines and tools are already purchased and ready to go
Partnership Conversations: Early discussions are taking place with potential partners and supporters.
First funding campaign currently being prepared
Brainstorming on first classes and workshops has begun.
The Community Access workshop is expected to open later in 2026.
